Life lasting Recognitions
Clark had numerous credits and honours for his work, perhaps the most noticeable one in Australia obviously was the lecture theatre complex in the national University.
After his wife’s’ death in 2000, their house in Tasmania was made into an educational centre in honour to his work and life. Nowadays it is used to discuss and debate current affairs. All of the community has access, as it is a public institution. There are held a series of yearly conferences, seminars, forums and a yearly lecture dedicated to his work held as well by the most prestigious critics and literate in Australia.
Clark was also Companion of the Order of Australia in 1975. He won many book awards amongst which the Moomba and the Henry Lawson Arts Award, the Age Book Prize, the Australian Literature Society’s Gold Medal and the and the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Award. Many Universities prised his work as well such as the University of Melbourne, Newcastle University and Sydney University. And as we mentioned before due to his well-cultivated popularity in 1980 was named the Australian 1980.
Furthermore Brian Matthews is writing a complete biography of Clark’s life and contribution to society. Although some smaller authors dedicated to him such books: A Short History of Manning Clark by S.Hotl and Manning Clark: His Place in History written in this case by Carl Bridge. Some say his personal letter will be also published soon.
